Join me to learn a new vocabulary for the soul

Near the end of this month, I’ll be embarking on yet another new adventure. I am co-leading an arts and faith retreat with Julie and Sam Drew at King’s Fold Retreat Centre.

I’ve never been to King’s Fold, but I hear it is gorgeous. Serene. Pristine. From the photos and video I’ve seen, I believe the rumours to be true.

There are still a few spots open for Art: Vocabulary for the Soul, and I’d love to have you join Julie, Sam and me. It will be a weekend to get away and get centred. A weekend to focus on your faith and your art. A weekend for spiritual and creative growth. I cannot think of a better way to slide into summer.

The cost is $400 and I know that is a significant investment, but consider this. That price includes your accommodations and food and instruction for the weekend. All-in. And I hear the food is top-notch.

For visual artists Julie Drew will offer help and instruction and painting and visual arts. For writings, Sam Drew will be on hand. For musicians, I’m ready and waiting to write some new music together.

If you have wanted to explore songwriting, this is really a perfect time to do that. You don’t have to have ANY experience. Our time together will be about slowing down into silence, listening for those songs that bubble up from somewhere deep beneath your self-critical inhibitions. We’ll push past failure and fear and feeling silly or self-conscious. We’ll all grow together as we become vulnerable by sharing our creative gifts (after all, gifts were given to be shared).

Here’s a video from Julie Drew about the weekend. You can register at vocabularyforthesoul.ca, and I hope you do!

PS. Let me know if you are coming. I’d love to get in touch and know about what you hope to get from the weekend.
